Planning Your Calendar – 2012
While reading several articles by my friend Wade Goodall, one article was especially timely for this time of the year. It was entitled, “Planning Your Calendar.” He suggested that we look for ways to:
· Create balance in your schedules
· Exercise (30 minutes, 4-5 times a week)
· Watch your weight and what we eat daily
· Develop the discipline of devotions (praying and reading the Word daily)
· Make time for your marriage (plan a regular date night and have meaningful celebrations for birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions
· Give importance to the schedules of your kids (school events, sports and music events, and special days)
· Sleep 6-9 hours per night, consistently
· Plan to have a day off (schedule it)
· Create or develop a hobby
· Find emotional balance (Ask for help if you need it)
· Ask Jesus to help you pace your life
· Cherish the temple (your body) of the Holy Spirit
This could be the Year where you’ll develop skills that will give you a greater sense of joy and fulfillment in your life and ministry.
This should be a Year where we pace our days with prayer. Remember sincere prayer “moves the hand of God!”
Love in Christ,
Pastor Richard and Merleen Strum
